More specifically we will explore common spelling rules, including some exceptions to these rules. We will identify common spelling mistakes that young writers make to ensure they are easily identified by beginning teachers. We will look at spelling strategies that will assist the beginning teacher with their spelling instruction, and some strategies for your students. And we will explore differentiation for those who are excelling or struggling with spelling and vocabulary. To complete this section we note some assessment strategies for teachers to use in their spelling lessons.
